Interpretive signage was installed at historic waypoints on this project which began over 10 years ago. The purpose is to educate citizens and tourists and to promote awareness of the cultural and natural resources along the South Maui Coast. Several related projects have sprouted from the original Corridor. Additional signage was erected at four other waypoints. The Kamaole Park and Kihei Boat Ramp projects have helped develop sections of the coastal trail, and South Maui Corridor brochures continue to be distributed though partners and at environmental venues. An active citizens group has emerged to promote these projects and Tri-Isle continued to serve as the umbrella organization.
