A public awareness project aimed at residents and visitors promoting the International Year of the Reef was organized by Project Manager Rachel Quinn, and involved visiting mosaic artist Isaiah Zager and his partner Julia Zager. The project was documented by photographer Tom Tauber. It involved collaboration among 35 young artists from Maui high schools and from the local community, cultural consultants, teachers, non profits, Project EAST, and the County of Maui. The product was creation of a mirror and tile mosaic mural on the public restroom in Kalama Park This mural was created by the participants on January 5-9, 2008.
