A total of forty volunteers from the community assisted in the playground work, site preparation, and spreading of the surfacing material. The playground served 210 children from Paukukalo and Waiehu Kou communities. Volunteer groups were supported by Maui Economic Opportunity, Inc. (Youth Bank), Paukukalo Hawaiian Home Lands Association, U.S. Army Reserve, and Hawaiian Home Lands residents. Installation of the playground equipment was completed by Welker Construction. The manufacturer of the equipment was Landscape Structures, Inc. working with Coast Recreation, Inc. on Oahu. |
