Projects - Maui Cattlemen’s Association

The association includes a broad based membership of small and medium sized farmers who received a business development grant from the County of Maui.  A Grant was used to purchase equipment to harvest and process forage as an alternative feed source. The feed is needed to sustain cattle production in times of drought when existing feed sources are insufficient. Two grants from the Maui Ag Development Program provided funds to purchase additional forage equipment.

  • Maui Cattle Company – The Cattle Company consists of 6 large producers who are working on a comprehensive plan to revive the beef industry on Maui.  This will support locally grown and processed beef for the consumer market on Maui. The Cattle Company has applied for and received several grants to help develop their projects, including ones from the Maui Ag Development Program, and RETA-H II, (Regional Economic Transition Assistance Hawaii). As a for-profit organization the ranchers agreed to have Tri-Isle act as financial consultant on the RETAH II project. Several other grants have been pursued on an ongoing basis including a NRCS Conservation Innovation Grant and alternative energy grants.
